51 million school hours are lost each year due to dental related illnesses.
Simply put, many children do not own a toothbrush or have never been to the dentist.
School-based dental care removes cost, time, and transportation barriers so children
can easily access needed preventive dental services in order to stay healthy.
Children are more attentive in class due to less distraction from dental pain.
Good oral health helps prevent health issues later in life such as diabetes and heart disease.

Healthy children feel better in schools, which helps our efforts to educate. Tooth decay is the most common disease among children…it is also largely preventable! By providing dental care in the schools, children can easily access necessary preventive care in order to stay healthy!
